A Merry Little Christmas
A Merry Little Christmas by Anita Higman is a romance that takes place in the sixties.
When Franny was eighteen her parents were killed by a falling tree. She was left to run their 250 acre farm alone. She’s had the farm on the market for twelve years and figures no one will ever buy it. But she doesn’t give up on her dream to move to the city and become a radio d jay.
One day Charlie Landau, the son of a rich businessman, shows up offers to buy her farm. It is abundantly clear that Charlie doesn’t know the first thing about farming, but it has always been his dream to be a farmer. He convinces Franny to stick around for three weeks to teach him how to run the farm before she leaves for the city.
Franny teaches Charlie everything possible over the next three weeks, but they both get more than they bargained for.
A Merry Little Christmas deals with racial issues and forgiveness, and is a sweet story of boy meets girl from the wrong side of the tracks. The story is old fashioned and feels that way throughout. The author did an exceptional job of staying true to the time period–at least what I know of it.

You’re welcome, Janice. This is such a neat little book. It comes in hardback, which is rare these days. I just bought another Christmas book that is hardback too, so maybe it’s not so rare. LOL:) Happy reading.
