CASCADING WATERWORKS
~Embracing progress becomes a matter of the heart~
I had hoped to share the cover of this book with you, but after trying multiple times to upload it, I gave up. This new blog is proving to be a challenge in more ways than one. To see the cover, please follow this link.
Busy with her downtown beautification work, Elina Marshall witnesses near calamity as Lathe Dailey, Flora’s new town manager, rescues a widow and her children from a downburst when the old railroad water tower fails. The Marshall family soon attends the world-famous 1904 St. Louis Exposition, and Lathe is invited along to contract the new waterworks that will modernize their town with running water. Romance leads the way through exotic gardens and a gondola ride, until drama unfolds down The Pike’s rowdy midway. The untimely mishap drives a wedge between Lathe and the chairman of the town council—Elina’s stern father. July 4th ushers in a lot auction to expand the town and pits Elina dead set against Lathe’s top bid.
Orderly-minded, Lathe always has a plan, but can Elina align with it?
More than chaos will be “coming down The Pike”
as Missouri determines to go modern with a progressive mindset
that always allows room for romance.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Cindy M. Amos has romantic ties to the Show Me State, as her husband grew up and attended college in Rolla, Missouri. She enjoyed visits to the rocky, cedar-lined bluffs of his family’s rural farm, where their sons romped and played in lush backyard gardens full of box turtles, toads, and other resident creatures. Adjoining the Mark Twain National Forest, the Amos farm never lacked for shade—or outdoor adventure. On a visit to the St. Louis Zoo, she discovered that several structures of the famed 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition still live on in a creative blend of historic grandeur and modern-day utility. Such an incidental occasion breathes inspiration to this historical regional book during an unforgettable time of advancement in the life of our nation.
A multi-published author, Ms. Amos writes inspirational fiction from her home in Wichita, Kansas. She ranches in the incomparable Flint Hills on the Amos family’s fifth generation family farm with her aviation engineer husband and two strapping college-aged sons. She enjoys nature study, gardening, and riding her bike along Rails to Trails for non-stop adventure on a linear circuit. In the kitchen, pie-baking is her joy, especially if she picked the fruit by hand. Ms. Amos enjoys leading small group discussions for women’s Bible study in her home church, where her love for the Lord takes wing.
The author is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers national organization and faithfully serves as secretary in the South Central Kansas chapter.
