• Beating Stress by Kimberly Rose Johnson

Beating stress is not a new topic for me. Keeping my commitments to a minimum to allow margin in my life is key. Another thing I’ve found to be helpful is a change in scenery. Last weekend my husband and I put into practice this very strategy. Here are three strategies to help combat stress in your life. Exercise. I can not express strongly enough how important regular exercise is to combating stress. It relieves tension, releases good endorphins, and it simply makes you feel better so long as you don’t overdo it. Be sure to listen to your body. While on our weekend getaway we spent the majority of…

  • No Cost Tips to Combating Stress via Kimberly Rose Johnson

As a full time writer I deal with stress and anxiety a lot. But you don’t have to be a published writer to get caught in the stress trap. We all experience this energy zapping distraction. But how we deal with it, is what matters. Why is stress such a big deal? For starters the physical effects of stress on our bodies is nuts. I overeat when I’m stressed, and then gain weight, which puts stress on my heart, and raises my blood pressure. Not to mention how uncomfortable my clothes become, and then I stress my weight. You get the picture. It’s a ridiculous cycle that I fall into…

Labor Day for me signals the end of summer. I know many of you love summer, but I am ready to kiss summer goodbye. Why? I’m glad you asked. 🙂 It’s simple, I love fall. On a recent trip to Sisters, Oregon I spotted this mug and snapped a pic of it for all of you cat lovers. It’s the quintessential fall mug. What is your favorite season and what do you love about it?

  • My Working Vacation

I meant to post about my working vacation last Monday, but apparently my brain was still in vacation mode because I completely forgot to post last week. Two weeks ago I went to Montana. I was pretty much in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a gazillion trees, meadows of grass, and a field of freshly cut hay. I’m allergic to it all, so I mostly stayed indoors the entire time I was there. The picture below of the deer was taken from my bedroom window. Of course I couldn’t stay cooped up indoors in this outdoorsman paradise all the time. The following picture was taken while on a walk…
