• Waiting For A View (A Bloomfield Novel)

Waiting For A View by Debby Mayne is the first book in the Bloomfield series. After reading this one I’m looking forward to reading the entire series. Bloomfield is a small town filled with eccentric characters. To me the book was a feel good story about a community of people who care for one another. Sherry Butler is stuck in time living in her childhood home that has seen better days, wearing “sensible” clothes and working in the same card shop since high school. Sherry is insecure thanks to her dad’s reputation as the town drunk, but with the help of Naomi she is working at making a few changes.…

  • Welcome 2013

Welcome 2013 and farewell 2012!  It is hard to believe another year has past, and what a year it was. 2013 holds unlimited potential, and I’m excited to see what the year brings. I’ve never been one for new year resolutions because it’s too much pressure and I generally  fail, so no resolutions here.:D Of course, I do set goals for myself–but absolutely no resolutions. LOL My first traditionally published book releases in 2013. It is a little hard to fathom that something I spent countless hours for six years working toward, will finally come to fruition. The lesson–don’t give up on your dreams! What about you, is there anything…

  • Merry Christmas

I know I said I wouldn’t be posting again. But I had to share. Remember when I said I was going to try and see the Christmas lights this year? I did one step better. My husband and I went to a tourist attraction in our area that decorates like crazy for Christmas. So, in case you didn’t get out to see any lights this year, I posted a few photos of my great adventure.:) Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

  • A Daughter’s Redemption

A Daughter’s Redemption by Georgiana Daniels is a Love Inspired contemporary romance. This book releases December 18th, but I was given a complementary early review copy. The story held my attention and the characters were well written. From the back cover: Inheriting her estranged father’s property isn’t the reason Robyn Warner wanted to come back to Pine Hollow. She thought she’d make amends with her father—but his sudden death made that impossible. And when she learns the identity of the handyman fixing the run-down cabins, Robyn is ready to flee Pine Hollow again. Caleb Sloane, the cop responsible for her father’s accident, just wants to uphold his promise and then…

  • Take Time for Fun

During this hectic season it is easy to forget to take a moment and have fun. I get so caught up it what needs to be done, that I forget I can also play a game or drive around and look at Christmas lights, or do whatever will put a smile on my face. What makes you smile? I encourage you to take the time for some fun or at the very least spend a few minutes doing something that will put a smile on your face. It’s been a few years since I’ve made a point to look at the houses decked out in Christmas lights. I think I’ll…

  • Slow Down

Take time to slow down and enjoy life a little. I know I don’t normally send out three posts in one week, but this is important. This past week I’ve encountered more than one seriously impatient driver. I know everyone is rushed and in a hurry, but driving 50 mph in a school zone is NOT cool. Tail-gating someone who is driving the legal limit at any time is NOT cool. Blasting through residential intersections because you are in too much of a hurry to follow the rules of the road and stop is NOT cool. I know we are all busy, but it all falls back to time management,…

  • Feeling Overwhelmed

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Does life feel like a never ending roller coaster? You are not alone. This time of year is especially busy. Between going to Christmas programs, shopping, baking, working and keeping up with every day life it can all become too much to deal with. Below are a few suggestions to help you cope. 1. Cut back on the number of parties you attend. Rather than go to every party you are invited to, choose to go to the one that matters the most. Maybe you especially want to go to more than one and if that fits into your schedule then go for it! After all…

  • The Happy Challenge

Are you happy? Maybe you struggle to find happiness this time of year? For many people the holiday season can be one of the most difficult times. Have you ever wished you could find some relief or do something to brighten another persons day? Recently I learned that just the act of complimenting someone or encouraging them not only brightens their day, but also causes the giver to be happier for (I’m going by memory, so cut me some slack if I have the stat wrong) up to five days. That amazes me! I challenge everyone to brighten someones day today and everyday as often as you think about it.…
