Code Blue
Kudos to Dr. Richard Mabry author of Code Blue a medical romantic suspense. The characters were believable and engaging. I only missed not getting inside the heroes head a little. Cathy returns to her home town and opens her own private medical practice. She has dreams of success as a general practitioner, but someone in Dainger, Texas wants her dead. The story opens with someone running Cathy off the road and leaving her to die. But she is a survivor and drags herself from the accident. She is found by Will, her high school sweetheart. Will makes sure she gets the medical help she needs and much more. To be…

OCW Conference
I attended the Oregon Christian Writers conference this week and was impressed with the quality of education and attending editors and agents. The conference was held at Aldersgate Conference Center just outside of Turner Oregon. The site was new for OCW and a challenge for many thanks to the steep climb to a residence lodge and a couple class rooms, but overall the place was excellent. If you’re a writer, or even thinking about becoming one, Oregon Christian Writers put on a fantastic conference for both fiction and non-fiction writers. I’ve been attending conferences for six years now and this particular one is at the top of my “best” list.…

Fatal Judgment
Fatal Judgment by Irene Hannon is a winner! This book reminds me of Dee Henderson’s O’Malley series. U.S. Marshal Jake Taylor is put on protection detail for federal judge Liz Michaels when her sister is shot while inside Liz’s apartment. He is not happy about the assignment based on information he’d received about her. However, the woman he meets is much different than expected and he suspects he was misinformed. The romantic tension and suspense in the book propelled me through the story. Both characters are strong and compelling. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series which releases this month. I’ve included the link to Fatal…

Love Finds you in Carmel by-the-Sea
https://www.sandradbricker.com/images/carmel_cover.jpg Love Finds you in Carmel by-the-Sea was a delight, but struck me as very different than other books I’ve read by Sandra. The characters were younger than she usually writes and the humor wasn’t laugh-out-loud, however I still enjoyed it and found myself smiling many times throughout the book. I take books with me where ever I go to kill time while waiting for my kids, or appointments, and I observed a few people wondering what I was grinning about. If you are in the mood for an easy feel good read then this book is for you. Annie Gray is laid off and lives in her grandmother’s attic.…

Dissapointments
Like many aspiring writers and those already published, the news that Heartsong Presents would be closing hit me in the gut. My agent had sent a proposal for a manuscript I had written specifically for them. There really is no other major outlet to submit it to. I spent two days devastated over the news. Then another week thinking about what I should do. I’m tossing around the idea of posting a chapter every Friday on this blog. If I do, will I ruin any chance of ever getting my baby published? What’s your opinion? As a teaser, I’ll post a summary below. Let me know what you think. Do…

Best Breakfast Ever, Beach Dog Cafe
Had breakfast here today. I saw this place on line and thought I’d try it out. I have to say it was amazing. The cafe is very small–only five tables inside and one outside, but the food, oh my. The servers were friendly and I suspect the place is family run, but I don’t know for sure. You can find the Beach Dog Cafe in Lincoln City Oregon.

New Beginings
For the past month I’ve struggled with blogging. Today I decided to start over. This blog will be about whatever is on my mind. I’ll try not to bore you. Before I begin I’ll let you know a little about me. I’m a mom, wife, piano teacher, and writer. That’s the short of it. Oh, and I write Christian novels, not music. My day in a nutshell. My son had surgery, which went very well. I wrote a little, shopped a little, exercised and brainstormed. No that wasn’t all I did, but I don’t want to bore you. That’s it for today.
