Being the Best You Living an Abundant Life
This is the third installment of a mini-series I’m writing about living an abundant life. Last week we talked about our physical well being and I promised to cover our spiritual beings this week.
When we look in the mirror we see our physical selves. But what about our spiritual selves? I believe our spiritual beings are reflected in our countenance. Perhaps you can see the light in someone you know.
Here are a few tips to help you maintain a healthy spiritual life.
- Spend time daily reading the Bible–get to know your creator. This year I am reading the one year Bible. In past years I’ve read a chapter a day. The one year Bible was a challenge for me at first as it takes me between 15-20 minutes to get through the daily reading, but now it’s become a part of my day and the extended time doesn’t phase me.
- Pray–have a conversation with the Lord. That might sound like a crazy idea. I’m not suggested you will hear an audible reply, although you might, but for me it’s generally a sense or a thought. I find quieting my thoughts and waiting to be key in this.
- Worship. For me this means singing praise songs, but I know many musicians who worship though playing their instruments.
I imagine you’ve been told before to do the things above, but they only work when practiced. Knowing and doing are two different things.
Next week we will discuss our mental well-being for living an abundant life.
I hope you have a blessed week. For those of you in the United States, have a happy Thanksgiving.
