  • Welcome to 2020

I hope your year has begun well. I tend to not put too much emphasis on a new year, but this year it finally occurred to me why everyone else does–it’s a fresh start, a new beginning. New beginnings are such a gift! I don’t have a word for the year, and I don’t make resolutions. That’s not to say others shouldn’t it’s simply not my thing. I do however, think about what I’d like to accomplish on a professional level. I am driven by what I accomplish on a day to day level, so it makes sense that I would be this way when I look at the year…

  • Wrap Up With My Book List for 2019

This is my final post for 2019. I’ll be back in January, but decided to take a couple of weeks off from blogging. To finish the year, I thought I’d share with you a handful of the books I read in 2019. About half of the romantic suspense titles and a couple of the contemporary romance titles I listened to with audiobooks. I think that has been the biggest change in my reading for 2019. I discovered I really like listening to books. My eyes really gave me a hard time this past year from too much time on my computer and audiobooks enabled me to keep reading when my…

  • Living an Abundant Life Part 4 Mental Health

You might have noticed I missed posting last week. Once upon a time that would have made me super stressed and I would have dropped everything to get that post written. Not so much anymore. Sure I will always meet deadlines for other people, but when it’s just for me, I no longer stress it. Why? Stressing the small stuff is simply not worth the mental toll. I’ve learned to let some things go. Will the world come to an end if I don’t get a post up on my blog? No. Will someone be harmed if I don’t get my post up on my blog? No. This kind of…

  • Keys to an Abundant Life

What does it mean to live an abundant life? I imagine your definition might be different than mine. but I think it’s living life to our full potential, whatever that may be. What I’m not suggesting is living an over-crowed, time-crunched, over-committed, whirlwind kind of abundance. I’m talking about deciding what is most important to you and focusing on the people and things you are most passionate about. We all begin our day with the exact same amount of time, it’s how we choose to fill that time that determines if we are living an abundant life. For example, I have book due in January. That is important and a…

  • Life isn’t a Sprint, it’s a Journey #Writerslife

Recently I was asked for a quote so I scrolled through the files on my computer and ran across this one titled life isn’t a sprint, it’s a journey. When I first saw it, I thought it was an old blog post but when I opened it, I discovered the beginnings of a non-fiction book I started years ago. The topic of taking care of yourself to be the best you can be emotional, physically, and spiritually has apparently been on my heart for many years. It seems to be a theme the Lord as laid on my heart. Here is a portion of the introduction to that book: We…
